You will be working in Van Gelder's automated warehouse. From this location in Ridderkerk, fresh products are distributed throughout the Netherlands.
As a Service Technician, you play an important role in ensuring customer satisfaction for Van Gelder. It is essential that Van Gelder's logistics operation continues running smoothly. This means that together with your colleagues, you ensure that the various installations and systems remain in excellent condition. You will do this by carrying out preventive and scheduled maintenance (20%). In addition, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving ad hoc faults and breakdowns in the Toyota Automated Logistics system (80%).
This means that after every 6 days worked, you have 4 days off, and you receive a 30% shift allowance. Each shift consists of 2 Service Technicians and 1 Flow Controller.

Your profile
- MBO Level 4 working and thinking level (equivalent to vocational/technical education), preferably in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering combined with Mechanics;
- You hold a NEN 3140 Skilled Person certification, or you are willing to obtain it (through a one-day internal training course at the Veghel campus);
- Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance work;
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving system faults;
- Good command of either English or Dutch;
- Preferably living within approximately one hour's travel time from Van Gelder in Ridderkerk;
- An enthusiastic, proactive attitude and flexibility in your work schedule;
- Maintaining the various automated systems in top condition;
- Resolving mechanical, electrical, and control-system-related faults;
- Determining whether high-priority tickets require support from second-line engineers;
- Recording and documenting the malfunction reports and issues you handle.
Company profile
Your workplace will be at Van Gelder in Ridderkerk. At this location, you will work in a 5-shift rotation.
In early 2019, Toyota Automated Logistics launched this unique project in the Netherlands: a fully automated warehouse for Van Gelder in Ridderkerk. The system consists of various types of robots and automated cranes used for the temporary storage of products.
Toyota Automated Logistics and Van Gelder share the same goal: delivering all orders on time and in full, in the safest and most efficient way possible.
